Candidlynuts - I can feel your pain too. Mine was a little different in that I knew everybody in the circut. I was very outgoing and eve had 'privileges' in the hall. Even then, I was treated as an outsider. Like I've mentioned to others here, I thought Jesus taught that his true followers 'would have love among each other'. I think this in one major area the j.w. miss the boat.
Restrangled - Sorry you're having a bad time right now. You have some people here that care. Unload anytime you need us. The depression can seem to have a death-like grip. I hope for your sake, and the others here that share, that we can be that source of refreshment to your soul :)

How many ex-jws move out of town to start over?
by rebel8 ini was wondering how common it is for ex-jws to relocate after leaving the borg in order to escape the bad memories of being in a cult, or to break contact with cult members.. i have wanted to move far away for as long as i can remember--even as a kid--for this purpose.
various life circumstances have delayed that--long story--but mr. rebel8 and i are thinking of moving within the next few years.
i am the one who's most interested in moving to a completely different type of place--different culture, different climate, different everything!

I'm making a move ... not really that far away (60 miles) but it's a start. Tied to a job that puts me in the town I'm getting away from, but no interaction with any j.w.'s, and then at the end of the day, looking forward to heading back to a new home, new friends, new life :)

Greendawn ... they sent me home with pain killers and instructions to drink tons of water. They thought the stone would pass on it's own ... I hope by the end of the weekend. It's kind of hard to work with this pain in your side ;)

I'll try not to make this sound like a 'date-site' reply ... LOL!
I'm 6'0" ... when I inhale :)
I have blonde thining hair - that seems to be the curse to most men nowdays. Sometime I get a little 'crazy' and shave it all off.
Build - X-linebacker type with broad shoulders ... Lost 10 pounds last month! Yea!
Blue eyes
Neatly trimmed Goatee
Most people guess me at 35 - especially those that hang out with me.
I'm very into music. I used to DJ, some radio work, weddings, frat-sorority parties, etc ...
While appearing a bit 'rugged' on the outside, I tend to be more of the 'warm, sensitive type' on the inside.
Other interst would include sports, travel, grilling (love to cook) dancing, the mountains, skiing, roller blading, most anything outdoors, going out to eat, margeritas on the patio, time spent with good 'real' friends :) -

Is is easier to just forget about religion as a whole??
by EC ini feel like i am getting bitter and that is onr thing i do not want to be...but this whole religion, god thing is gets to be too much... .
i do believe there is a creator, but have no idea what the purpose is.....i've tried the whole jesus thing, but really that doesn't make too much sence to me either....so where does that leave me???
in limbo....so i would rather just forget it all... .

Good post!
It's easier for me getting away from the J.W. if I maintain my deslike for all religion. I believe there is a God, but if he's watching what's going on down here, he can't be too happy. Maybe in time I'll come to have some spiritual side, but right now I'm working on other things. Maybe it will work that way for you too. I hope you find some inner peace regarding this. I know it can be frustrating. Best of luck! -

Terrible "Local Needs" part--TRUST THE "SLAVE CLASS!"
by under_believer injust curious--do all gb members profess to be "anointed?
" are they all claim to be members of the "faithful and discreet slave class?

Sorry you had to go through that. I think I would have had pretty much the same reaction. If there is one thing I've seen and typed here in my short time ... rants and spazzes are totally okay. Here, the members understand. Hope venting a little makes you feel better. Hang in there!
I'm really begining to see what a bunch of 'followers' most these people are. And unfortunately my mom is one of them. She's always going to the 'you are not following the anointed' line of (her) logic. So many times I've wanted to unload and ask her to provide just one once of proof that these people are appointed by God. Because they say so? You better do as we say or else? ... Forgive me, but I've had my eyes opened. I'm not going to live my life by some group of old men in N.Y.C. because they tell me too. -

by cyd0099 ini ran into some financial shortfalls this long weekend because my son drove up and surprised me with a visit.
i showed him a good time now that he is 21 and anyway i ran short before payday.

Sounds like your co-workers are pretty cool and were not worried about any 'payback'. I'd take them up on the next offer :)
Sorry for the flash-back though. That is kinda messed up. Hope it doesn't happen again for a long, long, ... well ... never :) -

In the spirit of match-making, who do you have a crush on?
by MsMcDucket ineh heh?
i know this is either going to be one of those topics where people consider it a popularity contest or something....i'm just being an imp and seeing if anyone will be forward enough to tell about the person that they would like to date.. me, i'm married so that leaves me out!
but i have seen a lot of beefcakes on here!

*Raises Hand* Can I play too? :)
One of these days, I'll figure out the smilies ...
Anyway, even though I've only been posting for a month, I had been lurking for 4 months before that. So my 'crushes' are in the elementary stages ... but a couple I can name here are Brigid and Calliope. They seem very cool and seem like they'ed be fun to hang with.
There is a female poster from Oregon, but I've forgotten her name, who has a very cute pic in her avatar :)
I'm sure there are many wonderful ladies here ...
